What to Report

  • 🚨 Illegal Content: Child sexual abuse material, content promoting terrorism or violence, malware, stolen credentials, or other illegal material. Report to: abuse@zapfile.ai
  • ⚖️ Copyright Infringement: Sharing copyrighted movies, music, software, etc. Report to: dmca@zapfile.ai
  • 💔 Harassment or Threats: Harassment, doxxing, revenge porn, or non-consensual intimate images. Report to: abuse@zapfile.ai
  • 🤖 Technical Abuse: Automated spam, attacks, or exploiting vulnerabilities. Report to: abuse@zapfile.ai

How to Report

Send an email to abuse@zapfile.ai with as much detail as possible:

  • Room code (if you have it)
  • URL (if you were given a link)
  • Date and time
  • Description of what you saw or experienced
  • Screenshots (if safe and appropriate)
  • Your contact info (in case we need to follow up)

What Happens Next

  1. We acknowledge your report (usually within 24 hours)
  2. We investigate based on the information provided
  3. We take action: block the room code, ban the IP address, report to law enforcement for serious crimes, cooperate with legal investigations
  4. We follow up if we need more information

Our Limitations

  • We CAN: block specific room codes, ban IP addresses, provide connection logs to law enforcement, prevent repeat offenders from using the service
  • We CAN'T: see the content of transfers (everything is encrypted), retrieve files after they've been transferred, identify users beyond their IP address, monitor transfers in real-time

False Reports

Please don't file false abuse reports. It wastes our time and makes it harder to respond to real issues. If you disagree with someone or don't like them, that's not abuse. Report actual violations of law or our Terms of Service.

Privacy of Reports

We treat abuse reports confidentially. Your identity will only be shared if you give us permission, we're legally required to, or you filed a DMCA notice (those require contact information).

Working with Law Enforcement

For serious crimes, we cooperate fully with law enforcement: provide any logs and data we have, respond promptly to legal requests, preserve relevant data when asked, and testify if needed. If you're law enforcement investigating a case involving ZapFile, contact us at legal@zapfile.ai
